Do you not see the full moon in the sky, now that it has

Don't you see the moon in the sky, how

sought, after its fullness, to wane?

After being full it starts to wane?

بَينا تَراهُ كَخُشكُنانِكةٍ

بَينا تَراهُ كَخُشكُنانِكةٍ

حَتّى تَراهُ كَأَنَّهُ قُرصَه

حَتّى تَراهُ كَأَنَّهُ قُرصَه

One moment you see it like a khushkunanika pastry,

Little by little it becomes curved

then you see it as though it were a round loaf.

Until it looks like a thin sliver again
