ما اِجتَمَعَ الشِطرَنجُ في مَجلِسٍ

ما اِجتَمَعَ الشِطرَنجُ في مَجلِسٍ

وَالنَردُ إِلّا بَرَدَ المَجلِسُ

وَالنَردُ إِلّا بَرَدَ المَجلِسُ

Chess has never come together in a gathering

The chessboard and backgammon gathered no assembly

with backgammon without the gathering growing cold,

Except the assembly grew cold

لا سِيَّما إِن حَضَرَت نَرجِسٌ

لا سِيَّما إِن حَضَرَت نَرجِسٌ

وَالبانُ وَالمَنثورُ وَالنَرجِسُ

وَالبانُ وَالمَنثورُ وَالنَرجِسُ

especially if Narjis is present,

Especially if a narcissus were present

along with the moringa, the stock flower, and the narcissus.

And a flute, a tambourine, and a narcissus
