كَأَنَّas though السَماءَthe sky وَقَدand already أَزهَرَتhave blossomed
كَأَنَّ السَماءَ وَقَد أَزهَرَت
كَواكِبُهاits stars فيin دُجىdarkness الحِندِسِthe pitch-black night
كَواكِبُها في دُجى الحِندِسِ
As though the sky, with the blossoming
of its stars in the gloom of pitch-black night,
رِياضُgardens البَنَفسَجِviolets مَحمِّيَةًprotected
رِياضُ البَنَفسَجِ مَحمِّيَةً
يُفَتَّحُare opened فيهاin them جَنىblossoms النَرجِسِnarcissus
يُفَتَّحُ فيها جَنى النَرجِسِ
were protected gardens of violets,
where narcissus blossoms unfold.
