لَهُ مُلكُ العِراقِ إِلى عُمانِ

After al-Harith, the king, son of Amr—

whose kingdom stretched from Iraq to Oman—

He owns the kingdom of Iraq to Oman

مُجاوَرَةً بَني شَمجى بنِ جَرمٍ

هَوانا ما أُتيحَ مِنَ الهَوانِ

هَوانا ما أُتيحَ مِنَ الهَوانِ

to dwell beside the sons of Shamja, son of Jarm?

Neighbors of Bani Shamjaa son of Jarm

Humiliation—what humiliation has been allotted!

Humiliated with what is made available from humiliation

وَيَمنَعُها بَنو شَمجى بنِ جَرمٍ

وَيَمنَعُها بَنو شَمجى بنِ جَرمٍ

مَعيزَهُم حَنانَكَ ذا الحَنانِ

مَعيزَهُم حَنانَكَ ذا الحَنانِ

And the sons of Shamja, son of Jarm, withhold from her

And prevents it Bani Shamjaa son of Jarm

their goats—your mercy, O merciful one!
