جاء الشّيوخ مجلّياً ومصلّياً

جاء الشّيوخ مجلّياً ومصلّياً

ومسلّياً في حلبة الأثبات

ومسلّياً في حلبة الأثبات

The elders came in first and second,

The elders came, reciting and praying,

And third, on the racecourse of trusted authorities.

And supplicating in the arena of proof.

وأتيتُ من بَعْدِ الثلاثة تالياً

وأتيتُ من بَعْدِ الثلاثة تالياً

مستغفراً من غافر الزلاّت

مستغفراً من غافر الزلاّت

And I came after the three, in fourth place,

And I came after the three, reciting,

Seeking forgiveness from the Forgiver of missteps.

Seeking forgiveness from the Forgiver of mistakes.
