1. وأيّ صلاةٍ للإِمام فسادُها

    تبيّنَ فالمأموم في ذاك تابعُ

    And any prayer whose invalidity for the imam

    becomes clear is likewise invalid for the follower,

  2. سوى عدّة ضاهت كواكب يوسف

    وها أنا مُبْدِيها إليك وجامع

    except for cases matching Joseph's stars in number;

    and here I set them forth for you and gather them together.

  3. ففي حَدَثٍ ينسى الإِمام وسبقه

    وقهقهة والخوف في العدِّ رابع

    Thus: ritual impurity the imam forgets, and impurity overtaking him;

    and loud laughter, with fear fourth in the count;

  4. وإعلام مأموم بفوز إمامه

    بتنجيسه والبعض فيه منازع

    and a follower's notification of his imam's “deliverance” [wording unclear],

    by declaring him impure—though some dispute this;

  5. وقطع إمام حين كشفٌ لِعَوْرَةٍ

    على ما لِسَحْنونٍ وقد قيل واسع

    and an imam's breaking off prayer when a private part is exposed,

    as held by Sahnun, though a more permissive view has also been voiced;

  6. ومستخلف لفظاً لغير ضرورةٍ

    لأجل رعاف هي في العدّ سابع

    and one appointing a successor verbally, without necessity,

    because of a nosebleed—this is seventh in the count;

  7. ومستخلَف بالفتح لم يَنْوِ ثمَّ مَنْ

    بتسليمه فات التداركَ تابع

    and an appointed successor (with the vowel a) who did not intend to lead; then one

    through whose final salutation a follower has lost the chance to rectify the prayer;

  8. وتارك قبلي الثّلاث وطال إن

    همُ فعلوا لكنْ به الخلفُ واقع

    and one omitting the pre-salutation prostration for three omitted sunnas, after a long interval, if

    the followers performed it—though there is disagreement here;

  9. ومنحرف لا يستجار انحرافه

    وهذا غريب بالتتمّة طالع

    and one whose turning away admits no excuse;

    and this is an unusual ruling, found in al-Tatimma.

  10. وذا في صلاة ما الجماعة شرطها

    وإلا فبطلانٌ على الكلّ شائعُ

    This concerns a prayer for which congregation is not a condition;

    otherwise, invalidity extends to them all.
