    A gazelle—his cheek sang Husayn,

and the down on his cheek trilled in Hijaz.

His lovers yearned for the plaintive strain of Rasd,

so he began repaying them with Nawa—separation.

I tell him the truth of my passion,

yet he turns to allusion and figurative speech.
