    واء وصفاً أو الفرائد عَدَّا

    O morning of mornings, who can capture the radiance

    In words, or number the precious pearls?

    نت لمغناك وردةُ الروض تُهدى

    It is no wonder, O rose of life, that

    A garden rose was offered to your dwelling.

    أنت أغلى حسناً وأكرم وردا

    Do not think a rose can match a rose;

    You are more precious in beauty, and a nobler rose.

  8. غير أني وإن عجزت عن التق

    دير حاولتُ ما تمكَّنتُ جهدا

    Yet, though I fell short in showing appreciation,

    I tried with all the effort I could muster,

    Sending roses in fidelity, and to the heart

    Love, into its deepest recesses.

    مي جميعاً أنت الحبيبُ المُفدَّى

    And for the feast—you are a feast for all

    My days; you are the beloved for whom one would sacrifice one's life.
