أنتِ الأماني والغنى والحياة
The days grew sweet through you—oh, my joy!
The days have been kind to you, making you happy,
You are my hopes, my riches, and my life.
You are my wishes, riches, and life,

The lost soul has found the light of guidance.
The lost one has found the light of guidance,
O his dream, O his star, O his radiance!
Oh you, his dream, his star, his idol,

So let the night depart—we have forgiven it,
Let the night leave, we forgive it,
so long as this dawn is the outcome of its darkness.
As long as this morning stays lit up,

Your pure beauty to me is like,
the faith of a heart humbled in prayer.
A heart's faith in the humility of prayers,

and through your power I have honor and standing.
With your authority I have honor and status,

A weary young man has knocked at the door;
A tired young man has come knocking on the door,
his journey was long, and his footsteps grew weary.
His travels made him tired and weary,

seeking an image vivid in his hopes.
Seeking a vision embodied in his ultimate goal,

And in the sanctuary of your beauty, he has cast away his staff,

Thanks to one who came down from above,

Night has grown quiet, and slumber has settled,
The night has calmed and the planets have moved on,
save for a brother of sleeplessness, singing his grief.
Except a wakeful companion singing his sorrows,

Calling you from the furthest place, so listen,
to one whose call spans the length of the nights.
To one whose call echoed all through the nights,

He called to a beloved companion who slept, unaware of his sorrow,
Calling out longingly, unable to sleep from his passions,
whose coy reproaches are sweet, whose fruit is hard to win.

For love is only talk of the most high,
the song of eternity—and we are its reciters.
Hymn of eternity, and we are its chanters.
