She said, “You looked at someone other than me.” I said to her,
She said, "You looked at another," and I told her:
while tears streamed down from my eye:
"My tears flow from my eyes like rainwater.

“My soul be your ransom! The eye’s gaze is shared,
I sacrifice my soul for you, my glance is shared,
but my heart is forever reserved for you alone.
And my heart is devoted only to you forever.

The eye sometimes looks, yet its inward state
The eyes may look at times, but their essence
is hidden from sight in what it endures.” (Reading the unclear يظهرِ as بظهرِ.)
Is shielded from the unseen that it endures."
