إِذا ما اِنقَضى مَجلِسٌ لِلوَزير

إِذا ما اِنقَضى مَجلِسٌ لِلوَزير

شَهدنا بِأَن لا نَرى مِثلَه

شَهدنا بِأَن لا نَرى مِثلَه

Whenever a gathering of the vizier ends,

When the vizier's council is adjourned

We attest that we see nothing like it.

We bear witness that its like will not be seen

فَإِن عادَ أَبدَعَ في فِعلِه

فَإِن عادَ أَبدَعَ في فِعلِه

بَدائِعَ تُنسي الَّذي قَبلَه

بَدائِعَ تُنسي الَّذي قَبلَه

But if he returns, he creates in his deeds

Should it convene again, his deeds therein

Marvels that make one forget what came before it.

Will bring forth novelties that put the past in the shade
