قسيمان مِن قَلبي قسيمٌ لِحُبّها
حِمىًan inviolate sanctuary وَقسيمٌand a share بَعدهafter it لِلخَواطِرfor passing thoughts
حِمىً وَقسيمٌ بَعده لِلخَواطِر
Two portions make up my heart: one portion, for loving her,
My heart has two shares: one for love of her,
is sacred ground; the portion after it is left to passing thoughts.

فَباقٍthus enduring هَواهاlove of her ماas long as بَقيتI live وَزائِلand fading away
فَباقٍ هَواها ما بَقيت وَزائِل
هَوىlove غَيرهاof anyone else أَخرىthe last of اللَّياليthe nights الغَوابِرremaining
هَوى غَيرها أَخرى اللَّيالي الغَوابِر
Thus her love shall endure as long as I endure, while destined to vanish
Thus love of her endures as long as I live, while fading away is
