أَضحى هلال العَهد قَد

أَضحى هلال العَهد قَد

أَقمَر بِالمُنتَصِر

أَقمَر بِالمُنتَصِر

The crescent of the succession has already

The crescent of the era has become

become a full moon through al-Muntasir,

Bright like the victorious moon

وَليّ عهدِ البَشَر

وَليّ عهدِ البَشَر

وَاِبنِ إِمامِ البَشَر

وَاِبنِ إِمامِ البَشَر

mankind’s heir apparent,

And heir of mankind

and son of mankind’s imam,

And son of the Imam of mankind

وَجائِزِ العَهد بِحَقّ ال

وَجائِزِ العَهد بِحَقّ ال

أَوصيِاء الزُّهُر

أَوصيِاء الزُّهُر

and rightfully entitled to the succession, by the right of the

And the rightful heir

radiant appointed successors,

Of the successors, the flowers

وَحقَّ خير الخُلفا

وَحقَّ خير الخُلفا

ءِ الرَّاشِدين جَعفَر

ءِ الرَّاشِدين جَعفَر

and by the right of the best of the caliphs,

And the right of the best of successors

the rightly guided—Jaʿfar.

كَليلَة من صَفَر

كَليلَة من صَفَر

No night we reckon

Never did we consider a night

is like a night in Safar:

Like the night of Safar

أَبدَت هِلالا وَانجَلَت

أَبدَت هِلالا وَانجَلَت

وَفجرها في قَمَر

وَفجرها في قَمَر

it revealed a crescent and cleared away,

It brought out a crescent and unveiled

with a full moon at its dawn.
