فهبني مسيئاً مثلَ ما قلتُ ظالما

فعفواً جميلا كي يكون لك الفضل

فعفواً جميلا كي يكون لك الفضل

So suppose me a wrongdoer, unjust, just as I said;

Forgive me for my wrong as I was unjust

then grant a gracious pardon, so the merit may be yours.

With beautiful pardon so the merit is yours

فإن لم أكن بالعفو منك لسوء ما

فإن لم أكن بالعفو منك لسوء ما

جَنيتُ به أهلا فأنت لها أهل

جَنيتُ به أهلا فأنت لها أهل

For if I am not worthy of your pardon because of the evil

If by your grace I'm unfit for my deed

I have committed, then you are worthy of granting it.

You're worthy of it, I clearly am not
