من كانَت الآمالُ ذُخراً لَه

من كانَت الآمالُ ذُخراً لَه

فإِنَّ ذُخرى أَمَلي في هشامِ

فإِنَّ ذُخرى أَمَلي في هشامِ

If hopes are a treasure to anyone,

He who hopes are a treasure to him,

then my treasure is my hope in Hisham:

My hope's treasure is in Hisham.

فَتى نَفى اللامةَ عن عِرضه

فَتى نَفى اللامةَ عن عِرضه

وَأَنهَبَ المالَ قَضاءَ الذِّمامِ

وَأَنهَبَ المالَ قَضاءَ الذِّمامِ

a young man who banished reproach from his honor,

A young man who removed blame from his honor,

and made his wealth free for the taking to fulfill obligations of honor.

And spent his wealth to repay debts.
