زُر ثاوِياً مِن آلِ فِيليبيذِسٍ
أَمسىhas become بِرَحمةِwith the mercy of رَبِّهِhis Lord مُتَوَسِّداresting his head as on a pillow
أَمسى بِرَحمةِ رَبِّهِ مُتَوَسِّدا
Visit one lying at rest, of the house of Philippides.
He now rests with his Lord's mercy as his pillow.
وَلِأَجلِهِand for his sake التاريخُthe chronogram نادىproclaimed نَظمَهُits verse
وَلِأَجلِهِ التاريخُ نادى نَظمَهُ
بالبِرِّthrough righteousness قُسطنطينُConstantine قَدhas indeed نالَattained الفِدىredemption
بالبِرِّ قُسطنطينُ قَد نالَ الفِدى
And for his sake, the chronogram proclaimed its verse:
Through righteousness, Constantine has attained redemption.
