زُر مَضجَعاً حَلَّ فيهِ فارسٌ فَغَدا

زُر مَضجَعاً حَلَّ فيهِ فارسٌ فَغَدا

أَحَقّ رَمسٍ بِاِجلالٍ وِاِكرامِ

أَحَقّ رَمسٍ بِاِجلالٍ وِاِكرامِ

Visit a resting place where Faris came to rest, which became

Visit the place where a knight once slept, and left

the grave most deserving of reverence and honor.

More deserving of glory and honor

مِن آلِ زَلزلَ مِن قَومٍ قَد اِشتَهَروا

مِن آلِ زَلزلَ مِن قَومٍ قَد اِشتَهَروا

بِكُلِّ فَضلٍ فَكانوا خَيرَ أَقوامِ

بِكُلِّ فَضلٍ فَكانوا خَيرَ أَقوامِ

Of the house of Zalzal, of a people who had won renown

Than the clan of Zalzal, a people renowned

for every virtue, and so they were the finest of peoples.

For every virtue, the best of men

قَد عاشَ في طاعةِ الباري وَعصمَتِهِ

قَد عاشَ في طاعةِ الباري وَعصمَتِهِ

دَهراً فَلَم تُغوِهِ الدُنيا بِانعامِ

دَهراً فَلَم تُغوِهِ الدُنيا بِانعامِ

He lived in obedience to the Creator and under His protection

He lived obedient to God, protected by Him

for a long time, and the world did not lead him astray with its bounty.

For years, untouched by worldly goods

وَلَم يَزَل لِصَنيعِ الخَيرِ مُلتَزِماً

وَلَم يَزَل لِصَنيعِ الخَيرِ مُلتَزِماً

فَنالَ أَرِّخ بِهِ غُفرانَ آثامِ

فَنالَ أَرِّخ بِهِ غُفرانَ آثامِ

And he never ceased to be committed to doing good,

Never ceasing to do good deeds

so he attained—record the date with this—forgiveness of sins.

Thus he attained, proclaim it, forgiveness of sins
