سهدٍ تُقاسيهِ أَو دَمعٍ تُعانيهِ
God knows what afflicts my eye in your absence:
All that God knows what the eye experiences after you
Sleeplessness it suffers, or tears it endures.
Of wakefulness endured or tears suffered
أَمَّاas for الفُؤادُthe heart فَحَسبيso it suffices me أَنتَyou ساكِنهُits inhabitant

As for the heart, it suffices me that you dwell in it;
As for the heart, you alone dwell in it
And the master of the house knows best what is within it.
And the home's dweller knows best what is in it
