Glad tidings to the beloved for the honor he has attained,
Good tidings to the beloved for what he has attained of honor
which came to him like rain upon a fresh, ungrazed meadow.
It came to him like rain over the most fragrant meadow
قَدalready نالَhe attained ماwhat لَمdid not يَنلْهُhe attains it فيin عشائِرناour clans
سِواهُother than him مِنamong سَلَفٍforebears ماضٍpast وَمِنand among خَلَفِsuccessors
He has attained what no one in our clans has attained
He obtained what none among our tribes had obtained
except him, among forebears past or successors.
Of predecessors past and successors to come
أَمرٌa matter عَرَفناهُwe have known him بِهِby it فيناamong us تَفرُّدُهُhis uniqueness

وَإِنeven though يَكنis فَضلهhis excellence كَالصُبحِlike dawn غَيرnot خَفِيhidden
His singular distinction among us is something we have known him for,
A matter we recognize him by, his uniqueness among us
though his excellence, like dawn, is plain to see.
Though his superiority is clear like the dawn

So may he rejoice in his exalted rank, ascending
So let him rejoice in the highest rank, ascending
to every new summit of lofty glory.
To every high summit of glorious ambition

And whoever possesses lofty aspirations such as his,
And he who contains what he contains of resolves
no wonder—I marked the date—that he should ascend the heights of honor.
It is no wonder he has risen to the heights of nobility
