وَقفٌan endowment لِسيِّدةِfor the Lady of النَجاةِSalvation بِهِthrough it نَجاwas saved
وَقفٌ لِسيِّدةِ النَجاةِ بِهِ نَجا
مَنwhoever باتَspent the night يَرجوhopes for مِنهُfrom it أَجراًa reward أَكبَراgreater
مَن باتَ يَرجو مِنهُ أَجراً أَكبَرا
An endowment for Our Lady of Salvation—through it was saved
Whoever spent the night hoping for a greater reward from it.
حَبَستendowed لَمِيسُLamis بِناءَهُits building وَغِراسَهُand its plantings
حَبَست لَمِيسُ بِناءَهُ وَغِراسَهُ
فَغَداso became لَهاfor her فَردوسُa paradise of برٍّgoodness مُثمِراfruitful
فَغَدا لَها فَردوسُ برٍّ مُثمِرا
Lamis endowed its building and its plantings.
So a paradise of goodness became fruitful for her.
منfrom آلِthe house of لمْعLamʿ الأكرَمينthe most noble كَريمةٌa noblewoman
من آلِ لمْع الأكرَمين كَريمةٌ
تَنميtraces her lineage إِلىto رَبِّthe lord of المَعاليlofty honors حَيدَراHaydar
تَنمي إِلى رَبِّ المَعالي حَيدَرا
A noblewoman of the most noble house of Lamʿ,
She traces her lineage to Haydar, lord of lofty honors.
وَافىcame مُؤرِّخُهُits chronogram writer فَقالَthen he said مسطِّراًinscribing
وَافى مُؤرِّخُهُ فَقالَ مسطِّراً
وَقفٌan endowment عَلَيهِupon it ثَوابَthe reward of رَبِّكَyour Lord قَدindeed جَرىhas flowed
وَقفٌ عَلَيهِ ثَوابَ رَبِّكَ قَد جَرى
Its chronogram writer came and said, inscribing:
An endowment upon which your Lord’s reward has indeed flowed.
