أَتاهُ البَينُ في شَرخِ الشَبابِ

A noble man has departed from the house of Haddad;

A noble one passed from the family of Haddad

Parting came to him in the prime of youth.

Separation came upon him in the bloom of youth

لِذاكَ مَناحة التاريخِ قامَت

لِذاكَ مَناحة التاريخِ قامَت

عَلى نَجمٍ تَحجَّبَ في التُرابِ

عَلى نَجمٍ تَحجَّبَ في التُرابِ

For him, history's lament arose

So the lament of history rose

Over a star that veiled itself in the dust.
