كَريمةٌa noble lady مِنof بَنيthe family of اِستَنْهوبَStanhope قَدhas نَزَلَتshe settled
كَريمةٌ مِن بَني اِستَنْهوبَ قَد نَزَلَت
فيin طَيِّthe folds of قَبرٍa grave نَدىthe dew of الرِضوانِdivine favor كلَّلهُcrowned it
في طَيِّ قَبرٍ نَدى الرِضوانِ كلَّلهُ
A noble lady of the house of Stanhope has come to rest
Within the folds of a grave crowned by the dew of divine favor.
قَضَتshe spent بِأَوطانناin our homelands مِنof دَهرِهاher lifetime زَمَناًa span of time
قَضَت بِأَوطاننا مِن دَهرِها زَمَناً
أَجرَتshe performed بِهِduring it مِنof صَنيعِthe doing of الخَيرgoodness أَجمَلَهُthe finest of it
أَجرَت بِهِ مِن صَنيعِ الخَير أَجمَلَهُ
She spent a span of her life in our homelands,
During which she performed the finest deeds of goodness.
لِذاكَfor that reason أَبقَتshe left behind لَهاfor herself فَضلاًmerit نُؤرِّخُهُwe chronicle it
لِذاكَ أَبقَت لَها فَضلاً نُؤرِّخُهُ
أَحياit gave life to لأَسْتِيرَfor Esther ذكراًa remembrance لاno فَناءَperishing لَهُfor it
أَحيا لأَسْتِيرَ ذكراً لا فَناءَ لَهُ
Thus she left a legacy of virtue that we record,
Which gave life to Esther’s memory, never to perish.
