مِنfrom آلِthe house of جَدعونَGideon الكِرامَthe noble مُودَّعٌone bidden farewell
مِن آلِ جَدعونَ الكِرامَ مُودَّعٌ
وَلَّىdeparted فأَمسىso he came to be فيin جِوارِthe proximity of كَريمِthe Generous One
وَلَّى فأَمسى في جِوارِ كَريمِ
A man from the noble house of Gideon is bidden farewell;
He departed, and came to dwell beside the Generous One.
شَهمٌa noble-hearted man قَضَىdied فَبَكَتand so wept لِمَصرَعِهِat his fall العُلَىglory
شَهمٌ قَضَى فَبَكَت لِمَصرَعِهِ العُلَى
أَسَفاًin sorrow وَناحَand wailed عَلَيهِover him كُلُّevery يَتيمِorphan
أَسَفاً وَناحَ عَلَيهِ كُلُّ يَتيمِ
A noble-hearted man died, and glory wept at his fall,
in sorrow, and every orphan mourned him.
أَرضىpleased بِسيرتِهِby his conduct المُهيمُنُthe Guardian سالِكاًwalking
أَرضى بِسيرتِهِ المُهيمُنُ سالِكاً
مَعَهُwith Him بِقَلبٍwith a heart فيin تُقاهُits piety سَليمِpure
مَعَهُ بِقَلبٍ في تُقاهُ سَليمِ
He pleased the Guardian by his conduct, walking
with Him, with a heart pure in its piety.
فَأَحَلَّهُso He lodged him أَرِّخrecord the date مَنازلَdwellings جَنَّةٍParadise
فَأَحَلَّهُ أَرِّخ مَنازلَ جَنَّةٍ
كُتبَwas inscribed الخَلاصُsalvation بِهاtherein ليواكيمِfor Joachim
كُتبَ الخَلاصُ بِها ليواكيمِ
So He lodged him—record the date—in the dwellings of Paradise,
where salvation was inscribed for Joachim.
