للعين بين خمائل الورد
I shall not forget the sight of her as she appeared
I cannot forget her sight as she rose
To the eye amid the thickets of roses;
To the eye amidst the curls of roses

And the water, set dancing by its own flow,
And the water dancing with its flow
And the full moon, pained by its sleeplessness,
And the full moon, its brilliance aglow

And the night a young man with locks parted
And the bough swaying, while fragrant have grown
And the branch exhaling the perfume of mandrake

هل تعرف الحسناء واعجبي
The breeze's robes with a breath of laurel.
The breeze adorned with the scent of basil
Does the fair one know—oh, how I wonder!—
Do you know that beauty? Marvel!

Any cause for the pallor of the rose's hue,
At the paleness of the rose's hue
And the withering of the narcissus's wondrous artistry,
And the withering of the narcissus' art

That the mote of rejection surely pricks my eye?
That no speck can make my eyelid start

والروض مشرق صفحة البشر
Spring's hue upon the cheek of the blossoms,
The spring's hue on the cheek of flowers
And the garden, its face radiant with joy;
The meadow shining, humans delighted

برد الشتاء فهل ترى سمعت
Alas for me, O most precious treasure!

Winter's chill—have you, I wonder, heard
Winter's cold, do you see I'm excited?

The gale of passion and the thunder of longing?
The passion of love defeats ardor
