أيا من غدا قطبا لدائرة الفضل

ويا مركز الغايات في العقل والنقل

ويا مركز الغايات في العقل والنقل

O you who have become the pivot of the circle of excellence,

O you who have become the pole of the circle of virtue

And O center of the highest aims in reason and transmitted learning,

And O center of purposes in intellect and tradition

عليك سلام من محب ملكته

عليك سلام من محب ملكته

بفضلك والأحرار تملك بالفضل

بفضلك والأحرار تملك بالفضل

Peace be upon you from a lover whom you have won

Peace be upon you from a lover you have possessed

By your generosity—and noble men are won by generosity.

By your merit, and the free possess by merit

إليك اشتياقي زائد بل لديكم

إليك اشتياقي زائد بل لديكم

فؤادي وإن كانت أوال بها رحلي

فؤادي وإن كانت أوال بها رحلي

My longing for you grows; nay, with you is

To you my yearning, moreover my heart is with you

My heart, though my camp is in Awal.

Even if my journey began with it first

بكم سامرود قد سمت يا ابن هاشم

بكم سامرود قد سمت يا ابن هاشم

وآفاق هندستان من ذاك في جذل

وآفاق هندستان من ذاك في جذل

Through you, Samrud has indeed risen high, O son of Hashim,

With you Samarqand flew, O Son of Hashim

And the horizons of Hindustan rejoice at that.

And horizons of India, from there withdrew in haste
