Among them a gray steed like dawn, whose saddle is mounted
Some yellow, wearing the night’s black garb,
By a dawn that makes the star of error set.
Its tail for the night a trailing robe.

Or a black steed like night, which rent its shooting stars;
You perfected in this work customs
It plunged through morning, and fate held it fast.
Where munificence is total and minute.

Or a chestnut steed, gold flowing along its flank,
You created therein of your bounty clouds
Clothing it in a joyous hue that does not fade.
That rise through kindness and are laden with benevolence.

Which galloping ignites on the day of fierce ardor.
That pour the clouds of generosity, surpassing all.

Who compares your palm to a cloud is ignorant of comparison,
With night's trailing hem hanging at its tail.
And the like of it cannot be imagined.

In this deed you gathered your customary favors:
The cloud is stingy while its face is scowling,
Generosity lies in them, both in sum and in detail.
But the face, with dew, is cheerful and smiling.
