هنيئاً هنيئاً لا نفاد لعدِّهِ

هنيئاً هنيئاً لا نفاد لعدِّهِ

وبشرى لدين الله إنْجازُ وعدِهِ

وبشرى لدين الله إنْجازُ وعدِهِ

Felicitations, felicitations—may their number never end!

Felicitations, felicitations—beyond all counting!

And glad tidings to God’s faith: His promise is fulfilled.

And glad tidings for God's faith: His promise fulfilled.

فقد لاح بدر التم في أفق العلا

فقد لاح بدر التم في أفق العلا

وحلَّ كما يرضى منازل سعدهِ

وحلَّ كما يرضى منازل سعدهِ

For the perfect full moon has risen upon glory’s horizon

For the full moon has shone on the horizon of glory,

and, just as he desires, entered the mansions of his good fortune.

And settled, as he pleases, in the mansions of his good fortune.

وطاف أمير المسلمين محمدٌ

وطاف أمير المسلمين محمدٌ

بحضرته العليا مبلَّغ قصدِهِ

بحضرته العليا مبلَّغ قصدِهِ

Muhammad, Commander of the Muslims, has made his circuit

And Muhammad, Commander of the Muslims, made his rounds

through his exalted court, his purpose attained.

In his exalted court, his purpose fulfilled.

وأبصَرَتِ الأبصار شَمْسَ هداية

وأبصَرَتِ الأبصار شَمْسَ هداية

وأشرقت الأرجاءُ من زُهر رفدِهِ

وأشرقت الأرجاءُ من زُهر رفدِهِ

And every eye beheld a sun of guidance,

And eyes beheld a sun of guidance,

and every quarter shone with the radiant bloom of his bounty.

And the regions shone with the splendors of his bounty.

ولوَّحتِ الأعلامُ فيها بنصره

ولوَّحتِ الأعلامُ فيها بنصره

كما لوَّح الصبح المبين ببندِه

كما لوَّح الصبح المبين ببندِه

The standards there waved, proclaiming his victory,

And the banners there waved to proclaim his victory,

as bright dawn waves its banner.

As the radiant dawn waved its banner.

ستُهدي له الأيام كلَّ مسرَّةٍ

ستُهدي له الأيام كلَّ مسرَّةٍ

ويحيي به الرحمن آثار جَدِّهِ

ويحيي به الرحمن آثار جَدِّهِ

The days will offer him every delight,

The days will offer him every joy,

and through him the All-Merciful will revive his forebear’s crown.

And through him the All-Merciful will revive his grandfather's legacy.

فسُلَّ حسام السعد واضربْ به العدا

فسُلَّ حسام السعد واضربْ به العدا

وخَلِّ حسام الهند في كِنِّ غِمْدهِ

وخَلِّ حسام الهند في كِنِّ غِمْدهِ

So draw the sword of good fortune, and strike the foe with it;

So draw the sword of good fortune and strike the foes with it,

leave the Indian blade sheltered within its sheath.

And leave the sword of India in the shelter of its scabbard.

فسيفُك سيفُ الله مهما سَلَلْتَهُ

فسيفُك سيفُ الله مهما سَلَلْتَهُ

يُقيم حُدودَ الله قائمُ حَدِّهِ

يُقيم حُدودَ الله قائمُ حَدِّهِ

For your sword is the sword of God: whenever you draw it,

For your sword is God's sword whenever you draw it:

it establishes God’s bounds, standing firm through its edge.

Its upright edge upholds God's bounds.
