صلاة ربي على المختار
معwith سلامهHis peace مدىthroughout الدهرall time
مع سلامه مدى الدهر
The blessing of my Lord be upon the Chosen One,
My Lord’s blessing be upon the Chosen One,
together with His peace, through all the ages.
with His peace, for all time;
تعمencompasses آلهhis family معalong with الأنصارthe Ansar (Helpers)
تعم آله مع الأنصار
والصحبand the companions ماغردas long as it sings القمريthe turtledove
والصحب ماغرد القمري
May it encompass his family along with the Helpers,
may it embrace his family along with the Ansar
and the Companions, as long as the turtledove sings,
and his companions, as long as the turtledove sings,
أوor حركstirred الريحthe wind للأشجارfor the trees
أو حرك الريح للأشجار
وماand as long as دعاcalled داعيa caller of اليرunclear word in the source
وما دعا داعي الير
or the wind sets the trees astir,
or the wind stirs the trees,
and as long as a herald calls to righteousness.
and as long as a caller of [unclear word] calls.
والحمدand praise للواحدto the One الرحمنthe Most Merciful
والحمد للواحد الرحمن
عدto the number of الحجارةthe stones والتربand the dust
عد الحجارة والترب
And praise be to the One, the All-Merciful,
And praise be to the One, the Most Merciful,
as numerous as the stones and the dust.
as many times as there are stones and grains of dust.
