الحمد لله ذا سؤالي وذا أملى

أتى إلىّ بلا كد ولا عمل

Praise be to God: this is my request, and this my hope;

It has come to me without toil or effort.

جاء البشير بان الأخ يذكرني

وناب عني ويدعو لي ويشفع لي

The bearer of glad tidings came with news that the brother remembers me,

And has acted on my behalf, prays for me, and intercedes for me.

فيا حسين الذي الإحسان سيمته

أحسن لخل خلي ظاهر الخلل

So, O Husayn, whose hallmark is kindness,

Show kindness to an idle friend whose failings are plain.

عسى عسى ولعل الله يرحمه

يزيل عنه جميع العيب والعلل

Perhaps, perhaps—and perhaps God will have mercy on him,

Removing from him every fault and infirmity.

يتوب توبة صدق لا انتكاث لها

يمحي بها سائر الأوزار والزلل

May he repent with sincere repentance, with no relapse,

Wiping away through it all burdens of sin and missteps.

فقد مضى عمره في الترهات وقد

آن الرحيل إلى الأخرى على عجل

For his life has passed in trifles, and now

The time has come to depart for the hereafter in haste.

فما اعتذاري وقد جاء النذير فلم

الواليه وأخلدت مع الكسل

What excuse have I, when the warner came, yet I did not

Heed him, and settled into sloth?

فقل إذا طفت بالبيت العتيق وفي

مواطن الخير بالتفصيل والجمل

So say, when you circle the Ancient House, and in

Places of goodness, in detail and in brief:

يا رب نسألك للعبد الفقير رضا

ترضى لناوله من أفضل النحل

O Lord, we ask You, for this poor servant, Your favor,

Which You are pleased to grant us and him, among the finest gifts.

وصل ربي وسلم دائماً أبدا

على رسولك طه خاتم الرسل

And, my Lord, send blessings and peace, always and forever,

Upon Your Messenger, Taha, the Seal of the Messengers,

والآل والصحب ما سار الحجيج إلى البيت

العتيق على التعجيل والمهل

And upon his family and companions, as long as pilgrims journey to the House,

The ancient one, in haste and at leisure.
