The Creator, the Provider, the Giver, the Self-Sufficient, the Generous;

The One, the Glorious, the Enricher, the Praiseworthy, the Merciful;

The Constrictor, the Expander, the Giver of Life, the Bringer of Death, the Forbearing;

The Withholder, the Expander, the Giver of Life, the Causer of Death, the Forbearing

The Bestower, the All-Powerful, the Lord, the Majestic, the Magnificent.

يا فرد ياحي يا قيوم أنت القديم

الأول الآخر المحصي المعيد الحكيم

O Unique One, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all, You are the Eternal;

O Unique, O Ever-Living, O Eternal, You are the Ancient

The First, the Last, the Enumerator, the Restorer, the Wise.

أرجوك أرجوك تحت الباب قائم مقيم

أرجوك أرجوك تحت الباب قائم مقيم

مالي سوى وجهك الباقي خفيرا وزعيم

مالي سوى وجهك الباقي خفيرا وزعيم

I beseech You, I beseech You, standing and abiding beneath the gate.

I beseech You, I beseech You, standing obedient at the door

I have no protector or guarantor but Your everlasting Face.

I have none but Your everlasting noble face as my leader

إني أنا البائس العبد الحقير الذميم

إني أنا البائس العبد الحقير الذميم

ذو الفعل والقال والحال الوخيم الشتيم

ذو الفعل والقال والحال الوخيم الشتيم

Indeed, I am the wretched servant, lowly and blameworthy,

I am the miserable slave, the worthless, the despised

Whose deeds, words, and condition are dire and vile.

With wicked deeds, words, and state, the blamable, the insulted

لا الجسم صالح ولا قلبي صحيح سليم

لا الجسم صالح ولا قلبي صحيح سليم

ظلمت نفسي وقلبي من ذنوبي سقيم

ظلمت نفسي وقلبي من ذنوبي سقيم

My body is not sound, nor is my heart healthy and whole.

Neither my body is sound, nor my heart safe and healthy

I have wronged myself, and my heart is sick from my sins.

I have wronged myself, and my heart is sick from my sins

بعدت جدا عن النهج السوي القويم

بعدت جدا عن النهج السوي القويم

فهل تراني حبيبي بعد ذا أستقيم

فهل تراني حبيبي بعد ذا أستقيم

I have strayed very far from the straight, upright path.

I have strayed very far from the straight right path

Will You, my Beloved, see me become upright after this,

Will You still see me, my Beloved, thereafter set right?

وارجع إلى الله وأخزى اللعين الرجيم

وارجع إلى الله وأخزى اللعين الرجيم

كم ذا وأنا في المخازي والمعاصي أهيم

كم ذا وأنا في المخازي والمعاصي أهيم

And return to God and put the accursed outcast to shame?

And I return to God and disgrace the accursed devil

How long shall I wander amid shameful deeds and sins?

How long have I wandered lost in transgressions and disobedience

فما رغبت لدار الخلد دار النعيم

فما رغبت لدار الخلد دار النعيم

ولارهبت لتذكار اللظى والجحيم

ولارهبت لتذكار اللظى والجحيم

For I have not yearned for the abode of eternity, the abode of bliss,

Yet I never longed for the Abode of Eternity, the Abode of Bliss

Nor have I felt fear at the mention of the Blaze and Hell.

Nor felt awe of the torment of Hellfire

يارب يارب يا محيي العظام الرميم

يارب يارب يا محيي العظام الرميم

أحي فؤادي واختم لي بأحسن ختيم

أحي فؤادي واختم لي بأحسن ختيم

O Lord, O Lord, O Reviver of decayed bones,

O Lord, O Lord, O Restorer of decayed bones

Revive my heart, and grant me the best of endings.

Revive my heart and seal it with the best ending

وصل رب وسلم ما تنسم نسيم

وصل رب وسلم ما تنسم نسيم

على النبي ذي أتانا بالقرآن العظيم

على النبي ذي أتانا بالقرآن العظيم

And, Lord, send blessings and peace, as long as a breeze stirs,

Send blessings and peace whenever the breeze blows

Upon the Prophet who came to us with the magnificent Qur'an.
