I complain to the One, the All-Merciful,

of the sorrows that have come upon me,

    of worry, grief, and anguish,

    and harm, haughtiness, and defilements.

I raise my complaint only to God,

glory be to Him, the Gracious, the Bountiful Giver.

No one other than Him can help,

whether he is your beloved or your foe.

And if I remain silent, His knowledge suffices.

Glory be to my Lord, great in majesty.

But my supplication points to my poverty,

and is a sign that I am helpless.

May relief soon come to me,

for I am filled with sorrow.

Yet I have good hopes in God,

that relief will come to me this very moment,

and I shall attain my desire and what I hope for—

indeed, beyond what any person asks.

No servant who sought his Lord has been disappointed.

Glory be to Him, the One, the Compassionate.

    O Lord! O Lord! O Lord!

O Lord, You who free the captive,

O You, when anyone's circumstances grow straitened,

then grant relief now, O All-Merciful!

O my Creator, You already know my plight:

so grant relief now, O All-Merciful!

And stand by Your servant in his circumstances,

so that he may find favor with You.

And make his affairs easy, without hardship,

and do not let the hateful foe rejoice over him.

And grant me goodness and good things,

and stand by him wherever he may be.

And O You whose relief is near, bring relief

to the one whose sorrow has become plain.

I have nothing, my God, save Your favor,

and Your constant generosity, pouring like rain.

You suffice, You suffice, my God, as One

who knows me fully, gracious and bountiful.

    بنيت أمري على التكلان

    I have renounced my might and strength;

I have founded my affairs upon reliance

on Him in whose hand are destinies,

and in whose hand are favor and kindness.

I hope He will envelop me in His favors,

even though my disobedience has been great,

and that swift relief will come to me,

    abundant, plentiful, great in import,

such as has never crossed our minds,

through pure generosity from the Compassionate.

O Possessor of majesty and munificence,

say: 'What you have asked for, consider it done.'

Soon and swiftly, through sheer generosity,

    not through deeds—no—nor idle babbling.

O Lord, and grant us a good ending,

for everyone whose appointed time has come.

Then blessings upon the Chosen One,

the Elect among the descendants of Adnan,

and his family and companions; and salutations

upon them, as long as night and day run their course.
