Everyone has taken provisions and departed—where has Ibn Husayn got to?

I see no provisions with him—where are his provisions, where?

I see nothing with him but sin, heedlessness, and falsehood.

I think only when he departs will he say, “Alas!”

And now he has come to You, O Master of abundant treasure,

Poor and needy, his pocket and both palms empty.

He has nothing at all; today he has come to You empty-handed.

An eager seeker, asking You for a little help from Your bounty and generosity.

So forgive his sin, and conceal every fault and blemish.

And discharge on his behalf, O Lord, every obligation and debt.

And forgive his family, his companions, and both parents.

And show him nothing but good in both states.

And bestow favor on his family, his companions, and both parents.

And leave upon him no tarnish from his faults.

And adorn him with finery from Your splendid gifts.

And grant us, Lord, a good ending, by al-Husayn’s grandfather.
