أتسألني ولست لذاك أهلا

وأنت لهذه العلل الطبيب

Do you ask me, though I am not fit for that,

While you are the physician for these ailments?

ومن لي أن أكون لكم مجيبا

وإني لي باني لا أجيب

And who can enable me to answer you?

And indeed I ... for me ... that I do not answer [wording unclear as written].

ولكن امتثال الأمر أولى

وإن خالفت ما اختار الأريب

But obeying the command is preferable,

Even if I go against what the discerning man chose.

متى لازمت ذكر الله تصلح

بذكر الله يا صاح القلوب

Whenever you keep to the remembrance of God, hearts grow sound,

Through the remembrance of God, my friend.
