1. واعلم أن الصبر للنجح ضمين

    وكذا للعسر يسران قرين

    And know that patience is a guarantor of success.

    And likewise, two eases accompany hardship.

  2. والفرج يأتي مع الشده يقين

    فانتظره مثل ما قال الرواه

    And relief surely comes with distress.

    So await it, as the narrators have said.

  3. ثم إن شيت السرور والهنا بل والحبور

    فوض أمرك للغفور

    Then, if you desire joy and bliss—indeed, delight as well—

    Entrust your affairs to the All-Forgiving.

  4. وأرض عن ربك تظفر برضاه

    واشكر الرحمن تحظى بولاه

    And be content with your Lord; you will gain His pleasure.

    And thank the Most Merciful; you will gain His friendship.

  5. والذي أخطاك ليس لك يصيب

    أو أصابك ليس يخطى يالبيب

    And what missed you was not to befall you;

    Or what befell you was not to miss you, O discerning one.

  6. فاعتقد هذا وكن عبدا منيب

    فارج مولاك ولا تخش سواه

    So believe this, and be a repentant servant.

    So place your hope in your Master, and fear none but Him.

  7. واشكر الرب المجيد تحظ منه بالمزيد

    لا تعلق بالعبيد

    And thank the Glorious Lord; you will receive more from Him.

    Do not cling to servants.

  8. إنهم ضعف فدع هذى الدناه

    وارفع الهمه إلى العالي علاه

    Indeed, they are weak, so abandon this abasement.

    And raise your aspiration to the One whose glory is exalted.
