وهش ولولاه لم يهشش
A gazelle—my heart has yearned for him,
My heart's gazelle went to him when it was young
And rejoiced; but for him, it would not have rejoiced.
And became infatuated, without which it would not have been so

Let your gaze roam over the dune of his cheek,
Just gazing at the softness of his cheek
And over my yellow, freckled cheek:
And mine, the yellowish, freckled one

You will find the expanse of his cheeks an apple,
You find his cheek looks like an apple
And my cheek, because of him, apricot-colored.
While mine because of him became sunburnt
