بهذا العقد قد حصل السرور

ولاحت للهنا فيه بدور

With this marriage contract, joy has come,

And full moons of bliss have shone within it.

بدور في الهنا لاحت دلالاً

مُحَجّبة تُواريها الستور

Full moons that shone in bliss, with coy allure,

Veiled, with curtains concealing them.

أضاءت من سناها حين حلّت

منازلها فما زالت تنور

When they alighted, their radiance lit up

Their dwellings, which have glowed ever since.

تزيّنت الديار لها سروراً

وجمّلها بزينته السرور

The homes adorned themselves in joy for them,

And joy beautified them with its adornment.

ومن أرجائها قد فاح نشر

يعطّر عَرفه مهما يدور

And from their quarters a fragrance wafted,

Its scent perfuming whatever moves about.

كأن قوام تَبّل في رُباها

يُتَبّلها تراه عليه نور

As though a figure had seasoned them upon their hills;

You see him seasoning them, with light upon him.

تُرى بوصالها هل لي بشير

كما قد جاء بالعرس البشير

Will someone, I wonder, herald my union with them,

As the herald has already brought news of the wedding?
