O you to whom all beauties are ascribed,

In form and character, my praise of you is most fitting.

Your smiling mouth parts to reveal pearls that have become

—Exalted be the Fashioner!—set in carnelian.

The dawn of your brow and the night of your hair—this and that:

What is the moon at its fullest? What is deepest darkness?

Your beauties have filled hearts with love,

So they hastened to you and do not depart from you.
