1. قتلي حلا لي

    لدى الموالي

    Being slain has grown sweet to me

    before the masters,

  2. مهما رضوه

    في كل حال

    whenever they approve of it,

    in every circumstance.

  3. عزّي ومجدي

    في ذُلّ وجدي

    My honor and my glory

    lie in the abasement of my passion

  4. لأهل نجد

    إذ هُم مآلي

    for the people of Najd,

    since they are my final destination.

  5. فيهم غرامي

    يا عين نامي

    My passion is for them.

    O eye, sleep,

  6. فلا تنامي

    كيما تنالي

    so do not sleep,

    so that you may attain

  7. ظبا المحاجر

    عن أرض حاجر

    the blades of the eye-sockets.

    Between me and the land of Hajir,

  8. أضحت حواجر

    كيف اتصالي

    they have become barriers—

    how can I be united?

  9. يا حادي سر بي

    لخير عُرب

    O camel-driver, journey with me

    to the best of Arabs.

  10. عسى بقُربي

    أرى نوالي

    Perhaps, through my nearness,

    I may behold my boon.

  11. قوم الرسول

    هم كل سولي

    The Messenger's people

    are all I desire;

  12. بهم وصولي

    إلى المعالي

    through them I gain access

    to the heights of honor.

  13. فيه مُرادي

    خير العباد

    In him lies my desire,

    the best of all servants,

  14. مَن في معادي

    به سؤالي

    the one, at my resurrection,

    through whom I make my plea.

  15. على التهامي

    خير الأنام

    Upon the Tihami,

    the best of humankind,

  16. أزكى سلامي

    من ذي الجلال

    be my purest greeting of peace,

    from the Lord of Majesty.
