يا مُنفِذاً ماء الجُفو

يا مُنفِذاً ماء الجُفو

نِ وَكُنتُ أنفِقُهُ عَلَيهِ

نِ وَكُنتُ أنفِقُهُ عَلَيهِ

O you who draw forth the tears of the eyelids,

while I used to spend them upon him.

إِن لَم تَكُن عَيني فَأَن

إِن لَم تَكُن عَيني فَأَن

تَ أَعَزُّ مَن نَظَرَت إِلَيهِ

تَ أَعَزُّ مَن نَظَرَت إِلَيهِ

If you are not my eye, then you

are the dearest of those it has gazed upon.
