لك وجهٌ وفيه قطعةُ أَنفٍ

مثلُ حَيطٍ قد أَدعموه بنعلهْ

You have a face, and in it a piece of a nose,

You have a face with a piece of a nose

Like a wall they have propped up with its sandal.

Like a wall supported by a sandal

وهو كالْقبر في المنازِل لكن

وهو كالْقبر في المنازِل لكن

جعلوا نَصْبَه عَلى غير قِبْلهْ

جعلوا نَصْبَه عَلى غير قِبْلهْ

And it is like a grave among the dwellings, but

It is like a grave among homes

They have set it facing a direction other than the qibla.

But they have erected it not facing the direction of prayer
