Sol 6.1

  1. قالوا بدا اليرقانُ ملءَ جُفُونه

    وَبَدُونِهِ يدْنُو سُلُوُّ الأَنْفُسِ

    They said, “Jaundice has appeared, filling his eyelids;

    and even less than that brings souls close to forgetting.”

  2. فأَجبتهم كيفَ السُّلُوُّ وإِنما

    في اليوم قد كَمُلَتْ صفاتُ النَّرْجِس

    So I answered them, “How could one forget, when only

    today have the narcissus’s qualities become complete?”
