كَيفَhow تَرىyou regard زَورَةَa visit to الخَليجِthe inlet وَقَدand already
كَيفَ تَرى زَورَةَ الخَليجِ وَقَد
صُبِّغَhas been dyed وَجهُthe face العَشِيِّof evening بِالوَرسِwith wars, a yellow dye
صُبِّغَ وَجهُ العَشِيِّ بِالوَرسِ
What do you think of a visit to the inlet, now that
the face of evening has been dyed with yellow dye,
وَرَقَّand grew sheer ثَوبُthe robe الأَصيلِof late afternoon وَاِنفَتَحَتand bloomed
وَرَقَّ ثَوبُ الأَصيلِ وَاِنفَتَحَت
فيupon وَجنَةِthe cheek النَهرِof the river وَردَةُthe rose الشَمسِof the sun
في وَجنَةِ النَهرِ وَردَةُ الشَمسِ
and late afternoon’s robe has grown sheer, and there has bloomed
upon the river’s cheek the rose of the sun,
تَلهوyou play بِذَوبِwith molten اللُجَينِsilver مُطَّرِداًflowing continuously
تَلهو بِذَوبِ اللُجَينِ مُطَّرِداً
فيهِwithin it وَذَوبُand molten النُضارِgold فيin الكَأسِthe cup
فيهِ وَذَوبُ النُضارِ في الكَأسِ
as you play with molten silver flowing
within it, while molten gold is in the cup?
