Do you not see his blood in the basin as it flowed—

the choicest wine in a cup of gold?

Had his saliva not been from the grape-cluster's blood,

his crimson cheek would not have complained of flame.

May my reproachers' hands perish above his cheek,

the bearer of roses, not the bearer of firewood.

Until, when his hand entered his sleeve,

like the sun, it vanished from sight behind the veils.

Return to what our Creator said in Revelation:

"Lower your wing, O Moses, to dispel fear."
