أَسعِدِAid الوَجدَlonging بِدَمعٍwith tears وَكَفاflowed
لاDo not تَقُلsay لِلدَمعِto the tears حَسبيenough for me وَكفىand that suffices
Aid longing with tears that stream.
Joy has brought tears that suffice,
Do not tell the tears, 'Enough for me; that suffices.'
Do not say to my tears "enough!"
لَستُI am not فيin دَمعيmy tears غَريقاًdrowning إِنَّماit is only that

I am not drowning in my tears; it is only that
I am not drowning in my tears, rather
my body grew light from wasting sickness until it floated.
My body has become frail from yearning until it floated.

The rain of tears from your absence drenched, in
The rain of tears poured from my eyelids after you,
my eye, the trace of sleep until it vanished.
Etching sorrows until they faded.

The most fragrant remembrance of you makes me weep blood.
Your fragrant memory makes me weep blood.
Many a musk has bled with its fragrance.
Many a gentle musk, its aroma caused to tremble.
لَستُI am not مَشغوفاًsmitten بِموسىwith Musa إِنَّهُindeed, it is the case that
لَيسَthere is no ليfor me قَلبٌheart فَأَشكوso I might lament الشَغَفاpassion
I am not smitten with Musa, for
I am not obsessed with Musa, he
I have no heart with which to lament passion.
Does not have a heart for me to complain of passion to.

I used to complain in love, but today I have
I used to complain of love but today
repented; may God pardon what has passed.
I have repented, may God forgive what is past.
