لدينا بركةٌ كالبدر حسناً

لدينا بركةٌ كالبدر حسناً

وليس يصيبها كالبدرْ نقصُ

We have a pool as beautiful as the full moon,

We have a blessing like the full moon in beauty

Yet unlike the full moon, it suffers no waning.

And no loss afflicts it like the full moon

كأنَّ الريحَ تأتيها برياً

كأنَّ الريحَ تأتيها برياً

حبيٍب قد تباعد منه شخصُ

حبيٍب قد تباعد منه شخصُ

As though the wind brings it the fragrance

As if the wind were to bring it a loved one

Of a beloved whose bodily presence has grown distant,

A beloved who has become absent from him

فيطرِبها إلى أن يعتريها

فيطرِبها إلى أن يعتريها

من الإطرابِ تصفيقٌ ورقصُ

من الإطرابِ تصفيقٌ ورقصُ

And so delights it until it is overcome

So it excites it until excitement takes it over

With clapping and dancing from delight.

With clapping and dancing from the excitement
