يومٌa day تغاثare succored بهby it البلادthe lands وتمطرand are rained upon
And ours, when the heavy downpours of rain burst forth,
When the clouds of life pour forth their bounty,
Is a day on which the lands are succored and rained upon.
There comes a day that rains upon the lands,
وتظلand remain مفعمةًbrimming أكفpalms بروقهof its lightning
تطوىare folded بهby it حللrobes الغمامof the clouds وتنتشرand spread out
And the palms of its lightning remain brimming;
Filled with lightning that brightly flashes,
By it, the robes of cloud are folded and spread out.
Rolling up the robes of clouds as they spread.
والغيثand the rain منسكبٌpouring down كأنas though حبابهits bubbles
دررٌpearls تبثare scattered علىupon المياهthe waters وتنثرand are strewn
And the rain pours down, as though its bubbles
The rain pours down as if its drops
Were pearls scattered upon the waters and strewn.
Were pearls strewn upon the waters and scattered.
فحسبتso I thought أنthat الروضthe meadow منهfrom it منورٌin bloom
والأرضand the earth غرقىdrowned والغديرand the pool مجدرpockmarked
So I thought the meadow was in bloom from it,
I imagined the meadow was illuminated by it,
While the earth lay drowned and the pool pockmarked.
The land submerged, and the stream overflowing.
