أيا مَن مودَّتُه لم تَزَل

إذا ما اِرتَقى رُتبةً أو وَلى

إذا ما اِرتَقى رُتبةً أو وَلى

O you whose affection has never waned,

O you whose affection has not ceased

whenever you rose in rank or took office,

When promoted in station or called to rule

أُعيذك من غَفلةٍ تَعتري

أُعيذك من غَفلةٍ تَعتري

جلالكَ من خادم أو وَلي

جلالكَ من خادم أو وَلي

I seek protection for you from heedlessness that besets

I seek refuge for you from heedlessness that may afflict

your majesty, coming from a servant or a friend.

Your glory from servant or friend

إذا لم تَزِدني على رُتبتي

إذا لم تَزِدني على رُتبتي

فَعُد بي إلى حاليَ الأَوَّل

فَعُد بي إلى حاليَ الأَوَّل

If you do not raise me above my rank,

If you do not raise me above my station

then restore me to my former state.

Then return me to my former state
