I leapt clear of boredom and did not sit;
Weariness prevailed, so I did not sit,
that is one of the shrewdest man's opportunities.
That is the wont of the discreet.

it had neither worn out with me nor been stained.
For it was not dirtied at my abode or sullied.

Keep one constant disposition toward me;
Treat me with one consistent manner,
if affection is guarded, it is not preserved.
If love is guarded it is not guarded through vigilance.

Is sweeter than sleep in the eyes of the sleepy.

When will it recover from its malady and be erect?

Between turban and hat?

I am the son of proud refusal, so I am not submissive,
I am the son of fathers, so I have no peer
nor one who clings to humiliation.
And no pleasure in the buffoon.

and a land I traversed, never held back.
I have traversed every land without being detained.

that taxes a rider who waters every fifth day.
That is arduous for the mounted traveller.

Slip off his smooth honor.

When it scorns the spear does not unsheathe.

Clarifying auspiciousness from the inauspicious.

distinguishing auspicious stars from ill-omened ones.

Were it not for the disparity between men
to hide him, their eyes are effaced, not he.
