وغادةٍ تُصْحَبُ المنايا

فيها وتُستهونُ الخُطُوبُ

And a lovely maiden—death is courted

With a beauty accompanied are calamities

for her sake, and hardships are deemed slight.

In it, and troubles are made light of

حمرةُ أَجفانِها الأَماني

وَحَبُّ مسباحِها القُلُوبُ

وَحَبُّ مسباحِها القُلُوبُ

Hopes are the redness of her eyelids,

The hopes are the redness of her eyelids

and hearts are the beads of her rosary.
