وقدwhen indeed وهَبَتْكَthey gave you to me ياO كلَّall of الأمانيwishes
And how could I blame the days for any deed,
when they have given me you, O all I wish for?

So tell the envious: be assured of humiliation
that leads you to the depths of destruction.

وصلتI reached إلىto مُنَايَmy desire وأنتِwhile you were عَبْرَىtearful
تُضَلِّلُكِlead you astray المَدَامِعُthe tears عَنaway from مَكانيmy whereabouts
I attained my desire while you were tearful,
your tears hiding my whereabouts from you.
فَمَنso whoever لَقِيَmeets الزَّمانَTime بِوَجهِwith a face of سُخطٍresentment
فإنّيfor indeed I قدhave رَضِيتُbecome content علىwith الزّمانِTime
So if anyone meets Time with a face of resentment,
I, for my part, am content with Time.
